Duplex stainless chain available in set lengths. This type of steel is not only more corrosion resistant than 316 marine grade stainless, it is also stronger. This means a smaller diameter chain can be used to achieve the same break load as short link chain. The break load is shown in the chart below as BL in kilonewtons. This type of chain is suitable for warm sea areas like the mediterranean or middle east, where standard 316 marine stainless will show signs of browning when used as anchor chain. This discolouration would leave a brown residue in the chain hold. Size available are diameters of 6mm, 8mm and 10mm

This 8mmx 100m Duplex stainless steel anchor chain is a high strength, corrosion resistant solution for yachts, motorboats, and commercial vessels operating in demanding marine environments. Duplex stainless steel offers superior tensile strength and far greater resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion than standard A4 (316) stainless.
