Wire Rope 7x7 - 316 Stainless steel
Size = diameter of wire in mm. Use this 7x7 rope when you need to bend it. Eg for around thimbles. (For tight bends on wire above 4mm use 7x19). This wire is woven into 7 strands of 7 wires in each strand - hence the name 7x7. It is woven in such a way that the weave is less likely to break apart. This is one of the most popular types of wire rope due to its strength and its ability to bend. Wire rope can be swaged using hand or machine presses, either into terminals such as a fork terminal, or swaged with copper or stainless ferrules.
